I've noticed that you have laid out Scout Dropsuits and such that are lightweight, and are specifically...well, blantantly made for scouting. But right now, that role is somewhat, possibly half-arsed, useful right now as you can only(in my opinion) get a good run(Haha, puns...get it, they run fast? I hate myself now.) out of them at the start of a match when everyone is in the race to capture NULL Cannons, and other things through hacking. They're specifically just not made for outright battle, and that's all your battle types have to offer at the moment.
I mean look, here's a few examples: Ambush - That's designed for outright gunslinging, and brutal murder of who can kill the most(or fastest). A Scout in my opinion would only be useful in the start of an Ambush in order to locate the enemy, and provide medical support such as nanite injections, or armor repairs. I'd choose a heavy for an Ambush, not a light dropsuit.
Skirmish - Again, the same idea, although can be somewhat useful throughout the entire battle if the enemy team is ignoring the defense of one of their objectives, and you need someone who can run way fast over to that objective and turn the tide of battle.
Domination - I don't really see much of a use at all for Scouts in Domination as you need Mediums and Heavies to break through the enemies defense, and/or hold your own. Granted, I can imagine them being used for flanking maneuvers to pincer the enemy into submission, but that'd just create a weak point within the whole strategy that would result in them firing at the scouts and breaking down the whole maneuver.
My idea to have some more use for these guys, and make a fair bit of more fun in variety, a Convoy/Escort Battle type. In this battle type, you have one team defending the objective, and another team attacking the objective, but it's always on the move. Sorta like Skirmish 1.0, except, it removes the need of heavies as they won't be able to really keep up with the objective. You'd need Scouts, or Mediums to traverse rocky terrains easily and quickly in order to find, track, and attack the moving objective. Whoever pulls off the best offense or defense, therefore escorting without the objective being destroyed, or vice versa, determines the winning team.
P.S. - I'm no Closed Beta Tester, so any harsh opinions that involve that insight please do avoid saying such. I'm not a horrible player, but I'm not the best either. Suggestions are by far welcome, criticism, and feedack are too. |
